candle care & faq

read on to learn some quick tips on how to get the most out of your candle!

Our wicks are made from wood that is FSC certified. Because our wicks are cut from untreated wood, there are small variances in the thickness and grain of each wick. As a result, each candle may have a slightly different burn and may require extra maintenance.

1. The first burn is the most important. On the first burn, allow your candle to form a full melt pool and reach the edge of the jar. This ensures the life of your candle and prevents tunnelling.

2. For every consecutive burn, trim your wick to
1/8” - 1/4” by breaking off the very top black bits with your fingers before re-lighting.

  • It is normal for your wood wick flame to fluctuate in and out, and may even take a few re-lights to catch.

  • For best results, use a BBQ lighter and hold to the wick for 5-10 seconds.

3. While you may want to burn your candle all day long, do not burn longer than 3-4 hours at a time. This ensures the longevity of your candles.

It's time for a new candle when 1/4" wax remains.

Remove candle from box before burning.
Do not leave your candle unattended.
Keep it away from young children and pets.
Keep away from flammable objects directly beside, below or above your burning candles.
